Today is World Antibiotic Awareness Week, which aims to increase awareness of global antibiotic resistance and to spread wider public understanding of the issue.
Our spokesperson Neal Patel was interviewed on LBC Radio about the week and explained that the over-use of antibiotics and a lack of new antibiotics in development was a global issue. He recommended that people also take steps to protect themselves and stay healthy during the winter months, for example by ensuring they have a flu jab if they are in one of the at risk groups.
